The Berry Courthouse

Plans of the Garden Restoration

The proposed gardens for the Berry Courthouse are based on turn of the century Victorian garden plans.

The symmetrical layout of the front garden has been designed to reflect the Paladian elements which were used in the architecture of the building.

The two avenues of Manchurian Pears emphasise the formal nature of the garden.

The “Hidden gardens” will be open to the public – wth the price of an admission charged. During the course of the year the garden beds are changed according to the season.

There is a blossom walk and a substantial heritage rose garden.

The two reflection ponds are to reflect the building and provide a public garden that is contemplative to complement the hidden garden to the east of the building.
